As STRAVIK’s Chief Digital Innovation Officer, Dr Karthigayan has extensive experience in digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence control and automation, and payment systems.

Capitalizing on Artificial Intelligence & Digital Technologies

Dr Karthigayan – who holds a PhD in Mechatronics – is the Chief Digital Innovation Officer for STRAVIK Sdn Bhd. He obtained his CEng (Chartered Engineer) and IntPE (International Professional Engineer) from the Engineering Council UK. 

Besides taking the position of Chief Digital Innovation Officer for STRAVIK, he also serves on the MDEC Talent Expert Network Panel for Data, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies. 

Dr Karthigayan has more than 19 years of experience in digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence control and automation, and payment systems with roles in academia, research, industry and corporate management.

While managing technical staff teams across continents, he has also played a pivotal role in setting up university branches and deploying manufacturing modules overseas.

Robotic Applications for the Industry

With his strong technical engineering expertise, he holds significant roles in companies in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

He is the current Chairman of 2021-2022 for IEEE System Man Cybernetics Society (Malaysia chapter).

He has published and co-authored more than 50 research papers that include book chapters and journals and presented at international conferences. He is part of the program co-chair, reviewing committees and organizing committees for many international conferences and journals. 

As an industrial partner for commercializing robots for various applications and intelligent systems, Dr Karthigayan is presently co-supervising researchers working on a project titled “A Secured Consensus Algorithm using Blockchain Technology for Swarm Robotics”.
